Magnus Swahn has many years of experience from the transport business and has specialized in the field of sustainable logistics, where environmental issues play an important part.
Patrik Andreasson, Environmental Manager at GreenCarrier, started the seminar by explaining the company's efforts today to reduce the impact on the environment, and he also explained GreenCarrier’s Environmental Certification process together with present intranet based follow-up/alert system.
The participants were GreenCarrier customers from different trades, and the variation among the participants brought an interesting dynamism to the discussions. What everyone could agree on was that the environmental questions continue to be very important, regardless of the current recession and financial situation.
Magnus Swahn emphasized that there is no conflict of interests between environment and economy, and he also exemplified this. For instance with a more efficient utilization of a unit we can reduce environmental impact and save money at the same time. Another topic was emission, and it was established that rail and short sea will be important ingredients to avoid further congestions in the European road system.
GreenCarrier will continue to work hard with the Environmental issues. Patrik Andreasson says:
- We will work together with customers to create cost efficient systems with consideration for the environment. GreenCarrier also compensates for our fossil CO2 emissions to environmental improvement projects around the world.
